Why Dancers Choose the EPAC
Competition Program
Dancers in our competition program train with purpose. With expert instruction in ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and tap, students focus on clean technique, musicality, and performance quality. Whether preparing for stage or studio, each class is designed to help dancers build the skills they need to stand out and feel confident doing what they love.
From national competitions to community performances right here in Bloomington, MN, our dancers have regular opportunities to perform in professional environments. These experiences help students grow more comfortable on stage, develop their presence, and take pride in what they accomplish as a team.
Being part of a competition team at Elevé is about showing up, working hard, and supporting one another. Through consistent training and shared goals, dancers build lasting friendships, grow in responsibility, and learn how to lead with respect and care. These lessons extend well beyond the studio, shaping who they are on and off the stage.
Ready to Train, Perform, and Grow?
Dancers interested in joining one of Elevé’s EPAC Competition Teams must meet certain readiness benchmarks to ensure they’re prepared for the training and commitment these programs involve. Candidates must be at least 5 years old with a minimum of one years of prior dance experience in any style. Entry is determined through an annual audition process, where dancers are evaluated on technique, performance quality, and potential for growth.
Once placed, team members take part in a full season of rehearsals, local and national competitions, studio performances, and community showcases. Dancers are expected to attend scheduled practices consistently, bring a team-first mindset, and stay committed to both their personal improvement and their role within the group. We welcome students who are not only ready to work hard but who also lift up their peers and lead with kindness. Through this shared commitment, our teams proudly represent Elevé and the Bloomington community on every stage they step onto.
For dancers ready to commit to advanced training and consistent performance opportunities, the EPAC Competitive Team offers a structured, multi-day program built around excellence in technique and artistry. Students train in core styles like ballet, jazz, contemporary, and tap, working closely with instructors who emphasize discipline, musicality, and performance readiness. This team is ideal for dancers who want to grow in a focused, supportive environment and bring their best to the stage all season long.
This high-energy team is all about rhythm, style, and performance. Focused entirely on Hip Hop, dancers train in choreography, musicality, and freestyle while preparing for competitions, showcases, and studio events. With two levels—Intermediate and Elite—this squad is ideal for dancers who love movement, thrive in a team setting, and are excited to push their creativity in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
Perfect for dancers who are eager to perform but looking for a more flexible schedule, the Competition Lite Team offers meaningful stage opportunities with a lower weekly time commitment. Dancers participate in community performances, Elevé’s Spring Recital, and one local convention or competition each season. It’s a great fit for students exploring competitive dance for the first time or balancing other activities while still growing their skills and stage confidence.
